טובה גנזל מתמחה בספרות הנבואה על רקע המזרח הקדום. מחקריה האחרונים עוסקים בספר יחזקאל בהקשרו הבבלי ובמקדשים בספרות ימי הבית השני. בנוסף היא עוסקת בהתקבלות של המחקר הביקורתי של המקרא החל מהמאה ההשמונה-עשרה ובמעמדן של נשים במתן מענה הלכתי.

    ד"ר טובה גנזל היא בעלת תואר ראשון בלימודי תנ"ך ופילוסופיה כללית, תואר שני בתנ"ך (1998) ותואר שלישי מהמחלקה לתנ"ך (2005) מאוניברסיטת בר-אילן. בתפקידה הנוכחי ד"ר טובה גנזל היא מרצה בכירה בחוג הרב תחומי בפקולטה למדעי היהדות, ראש תוכנית המצטיינים 'כרמים', ואף מרצה במדרשה באוניברסיטת בר-אילן. בתנ"ך תחומי ההתמחות של טובה הם ספרות הנבואה על רקע ספרות המזרח הקדום וביקורת המקרא במאה התשע עשרה.

    ספריה בצל – בין חורבן לתקומה, עוסק בנבואת יחזקאל (בעברית ובאנגלית). בנוסף, ערכה את הספר: בעיני אלוהים ואדם, מדע המקרא והאדם המאמין (יחד עם יהודה ברנדס וחיותה דויטש, יצא בעברית ובאנגלית) ואת הספר 'מקדשים יהודיים בהקשרם' (יחד עם שלום הולץ, אנגלית). לאחרונה ראה אור ספרה 'מקדש יחזקאל בהקשרו הבבלי' (באנגלית).
