The journey of Liora Witt to Cramim program
When you grow up in the diaspora, a place that is not the home of your people, Judaism becomes a central part of your identity. Especially when you are religious. I have always wanted to deepen and enrich my understanding and knowledge of the Jewish story, and also do aliya to Yisrael. After a year of art studies in Vienna, I discovered the opportunity to come to Israel for studies through the international Bar Ilan "Cramim" program. Without hesitating, I arrived.
Some see studying Judaism academically as a threat to the faith, but for me, the academic study only contributed to it. Readingh the Bible with the historical background, is more an opportunity than a threat. In addition, the opportunity to learn about the history of our people in the land where everything happened and is still happening, with lecturers who are passionate fortheir study material, creates a unique experience.
Einstein said: "The more I know, the more I discover how much remains to learn". Thanks to Cramim, the desire to know and learn in depth is only growing, and that's how I know I've come to the right place.
